RECONCILE HEALTH DISPARITIES. DIGNIGY HUMAN LIFE.

HiFi Lab develops and tests culturally-responsible intervention strategies that can be integrated and targeted to address determinants of HIV infection among African and African diaspora communities. Our research projects employ a range of research traditions, designs and methods including randomized controlled trials, structural equation modeling, ethnography and systematic reviews.

Collaboration between the HiFi Lab and the Gay Men’s Sexual Health Alliance

To increase Pre- Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) uptake among African, Caribbean and Canadian Black (ACB) men who have sex with men (MSM), the HiFi lab’s Evidence 4 Action team will be partnering with the Gay Men’s Sexual Health Alliance in a knowledge translation-based project. Together, they will work to create educational videos and digital files providing information on PrEP, and other sexual health services and resources. The videos will show ‘A day in the life’ clips that discuss relevant statistics and resources. In addition, the partnership will also record video interviews with healthcare providers which will touch on the work that they do with their patients. The digital files will be infographics that highlight important evidence, statistics and resources for HIV prevention.
